ALGORITHMIC ART
This section focuses on my interactive and process based work. All work is done with a program called Processing (www.processing.org). This art form is based on computer programming that makes visuals, these instructions can be set in stone, such as in my STOC project, or they can simply be guidelines for how the piece can be interacted with, like the Digital Ebru piece.
D-BRU
I was studying experimental art and came across the art of Ebru, color placed on a specially treated water surface that can be manipulated. I decided to try and reproduce this effect in Processing, which I had just started learning. The results are pretty interesting, I've wasted plenty of time messing around with it to get different results. The controls are listed underneath the window, so make sure you read them and click inside the window to make sure it is selected.

A group of students from UAT worked on this audio visualization with me. The video showcase the capabilities of the system and how it can be controlled. If you'd like to see more of what it can do there is a second video on my vimeo page, it will show up at the end of video or you can click the lower right hand corner to go to my page. The project was started as a multi user interactive piece, but in it's current state it is mostly controlled by the operators with user interaction being limited. A future version will get closer to the original goal, but visually it is working very well right now. I chose a square field as a basis because I wanted to show how something simple could be used to create a visually interesting experience.
